Join neighbors of all ages as they gather to Color a Community of Kindness, Saturday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in The Village Grosse Pointe. This creative art experience that encourages everyone to Spread Kindness is a collaborative partnership with Grosse Pointe Theatre, Posterity Gallery, and Main Street Grosse Pointe.
This kindness event was inspired by the character Cinderella in Grosse Pointe Theatre’s upcoming production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, playing June 5-21 at the Schaap Center. Cinderella’s courage, resilience, hope and kindness demonstrates that everyone has the power to make a difference by being kind.
WHAT: Color a Community of Kindness
This partnership with Grosse Pointe Theatre, Posterity Gallery, and Main Street Grosse Pointe, is a free event to encourage kindness.
WHEN: Saturday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Rain or Shine.)
WHERE: The Village Grosse Pointe, St. Clair and Kercheval streets.
WHY: To bring communities together to Spread Kindness and create a meaningful experience through the creation of a whimsical Cinderella-themed mural that will be displayed in The Village; coloring Kindness Cards that will be shared with Make-A-Wish Michigan for children battling serious illnesses; and sharing a thoughtful message on mini Kindness Pass-It-On Cards.
WHO: Participants of all ages are welcome. Children are encouraged to dress up as their favorite character from Cinderella to add to this magical experience.
