11 Grosse Pointe South High School students allegedly ate pot-infused cookies on a bus trip to a choir competition in Ohio.

GROSSE POINTE, MI – Eleven Grosse Pointe South High School students accused of eating marijuana-infused cookies on a bus trip to an annual choir competition in Ohio were barred from joining the choir on an upcoming trip to Ireland, a school official said.
The students remain in school and have “suffered their consequences,” Grosse Pointe Public Schools Superintendent Gary Niehaus told WJBK-TV.

All of the students knew they were eating pot-infused cookies and none consumed them against their will, Neihaus said. Some of the students reported feeling ill after eating the cookies, but there were no serious medical issues, he said.
Investigators said the choir students got the pot-infused cookies from a two recent male graduates of Grosse Pointe South, and the marijuana reportedly came from a medical marijuana card holder. Police don’t think adult chaperones knew anything about the cookies.
