Economics Expert To Examine Detroit's Boom
Professor Harry Veryser of University of Detroit Mercy will speak about the forces at work in Detroit's economic boom.
Professor Harry Veryser will offer his insight on the forces at work in Detroit’s economic boom at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 20, at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial, 32 Lake Shore Road, Grosse Pointe Farms.
The forum, sponsored by the Eastside Republican Club, is open to the public.
“Professor Veryser is a treasure trove of information about the U.S. economy and the moral underpinnings of our market system,” said club chairman Ken Chadwell.

Veryser graduated from the University of Detroit with an undergraduate degree in philosophy and economics, and two Master of Arts degrees in economics and religious studies.

He is the author of “Our Economic Crisis: Sources and Solutions,” as well as numerous other articles published in such publications as The Detroit News, University Bookman, and Intercollegiate Review.
In 2013, his book “It Didn’t Have to Be This Way: Why Boom and Bust Is Unnecessary” was published by ISI Books.
