Christ Church Grosse Pointe has a reputation for its musical offerings, including this weekend's performance of George Frideric Handel's Messiah. Composed in 1741 and debuting in 1742, the work was originally intended for Easter and Lent, but has since become a classic Christmas piece, with its familiar and instantly recognizable "Hallelujah" chorus.
The concert begins at 4:30 p.m. featuring Christ Church's Chorale, Soloists and Orchestra.
