The Village of Grosse Pointe Shores is celebrating 100 years, with a centennial parade, splash party and more, at Osius Park.
The parade begins at noon, traveling from Ford House to Osius Park,
Then from 1-4 p.m. plenty of fun is in the works:

- The National Anthem will be sung by Mike Olis, of the Honor Guard
- Mark Weber, Master of Ceremonies, will make introductions
- GPS veterans will make a presentation
- "Happy Birthday" will be sung
- The 2011 time capsule item will be displayed
- Grosse Pointe Yacht Club will hold tours
- Colony Marine will have a new boat exhibit
- Vintage autos will be on display
- Shores history will be on display
- Birthday cake will be served by Beautification Committee volunteers
- Plus, 100 special golden daylilies, hybridized just for the Shores, will be given away
- From 2-4 p.m. it's time for the splash party, with pool games, family fun and free pizza, coneys and refreshments, served by Beautification Committee members
