Come to the Village for Grosse Pointe's Greatest Block Party, now in its fifth year.

Enjoy two full days and evenings of late-summer fun, with all the best of the season, including food, cars, art and music.

The Village Car Show, noon-6 p.m. Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday.
If this show has that new-car smell, that's because this is its inaugural year.  this year, and features antiques, hot rods, muscle cars, exotics and the High & Mighty Ramchargers Dragster.

Taste of Grosse Pointe,  11 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, and noon-5 p.m. Sunday.
Guests can sample menu specialties, from starters to sweets, from 16 area restaurants, including Andiamo Trattoria, Blue Bay Fish & Seafood, Blue Pointe Restaurant, Bogartz Cafe, City Kitchen, Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe, Dylan's Rawbar & Grille, Golden Dragon, Jet's Pizza, Morning Glory Coffee & Pastries, Pierogi Gals, Salvatore Scallopini, and Side Street Diner.

Saturday Night Dance Party, 7-10 p.m. Saturday.
Dance in the street to the sounds of R&B artist Dr. Pocket. Free admission.

Noon-12:45 p.m.: Grosse Pointe Theatre performs selections from The Music Man
1-2 p.m.: Ben Steel (& His Bare Hands), Roots Americana and classic country
2:15-3:15 p.m.: CutTime Simfonica, featuring DSO Strings with guest Sharon Sparrow playing classical soul
3:30-5 p.m.: Polish Muslims, polka-rock
Sunday
Noon-12:45 p.m.: Sweet Adelines Shoreline Chorus, sentimental favorites
1-2:15 p.m.: DJ Jason Parent, dance music
2:30-3:30 p.m.: The Look, vintage Motor City rock

Art on the Block, 11 a.m.-dusk Saturday, and noon-5 p.m. Sunday.
A juried art fair featuring the work of dozens of artists, with fine arts and crafts to enjoy and buy.

Kids on the Block, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, and noon-4 p.m. Sunday.
Kids will have a blast with a bounce house, giant slide, face painting, balloon artists, coloring contest, kid Zumbo demos, a silhouette artist and much more to amuse them.

Pooch Parade, 1 p.m. Sunday.

StoresFront&Center, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, and noon-5 p.m. Sunday.
Merchants will set up sidewalk sales, so visitors can hunt for bargains and special offers.

The party stretches the three-block shopping area along Kercheval, from Cadieux to Neff.

Block party hours are 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday.

Grosse Pointe's Greatest Block Party is presented by Henry Ford Medical Center Cottage, and produced by the Grosse Pointe Village Association.
