Set against the backdrop of ranching Oklahoma in the early 1900s, this Rodgers & Hammerstein musical is full of fun, music and romance for everyone. Although there are conflicts along the way, eventually it becomes an idyllic world, where “everything's up to date in Kansas City”, the farmer and the cowmen are friends and people will know we're in love. Great songs, bright dances and charming reflections of an enthusiastic lifestyle all combine in one of America's classic Broadway musicals. Popular songs from the show, which have become American standards include: "Oh What a Beautiful Mornin'," "The Surrey With the Fringe on Top," "People Will Say We're in Love," "Many a New Day," "Kansas City" and, of course, the rousing title song.
