The Grosse Pointe Woods Community Center is organizing a day trip to the historic Pewabic Pottery on May 26.
At 11 a.m. everyone will board a luxury motor coach at the Grosse Pointe Woods Community Center. The first stop is for lunch at Sinbad’s where diners will have a choice of a broiled pork chop, chicken parmesan or New Zealand orange roughy. Beverage, tax and gratuity are included.
Then the group goes on to the nationally recognized, historic Pewabic Pottery for a tour of the pottery and a hands-on workshop where an instructor will guide everyone in making their own 5” x 5” Pewabic-style tile.
The tiles will be glazed and fired after the group departs, and will be ready for pick up at the Community Center in four to six weeks.
The cost is $38 for Grosse Pointe Woods residents; $42 for non-residents. Reservations must be made by May 12.
