Final Week for Grosse Pointe Theatre's 'Oklahoma'

Many entire families are cast in the well-known Rodgers & Hammerstein musical.

The Grosse Pointe Theatre's production of "Oklahoma" enters its final round of performances this week and it is not to be missed!

The famous story of a small community of family farmers and ranchers in Oklahoma in the early 1900s is brought to life by many area families who have multiple members in the talented cast.

Director Don Bischoff, who has also starred in "Oklahoma" with other groups twice in the past as Will Parker, is joined by his wife, Tracy, who is responsible for the prduction's beautiful scenery painting.  The Bischoffs' son, Kyle, also is part of the company as one of the cowboys.

Music director Stan Harr, who has just completed 150 shows for the Grosse Pointe Theater, is joined by his wife, Laura, who plays "Aunt Eller" and son Jeremy as the comedic lead, "Will Parker."  This is the first time the Harr family has appeared together.

Indeed many area families--Groth, White, Calisi, Boehmer, Backer, Leszczynski, Pfaff--bring this moving story of love and community to life with soaring vocals, sharp choreography and beautiful scenery.
