Former Harper Woods Cop Faces Heroin, Larceny Charges

He's being accused of stealing from the police station and possessing heroin.

HARPER WOODS, MI -- A former Harper Woods police officer has been charged with several crimes including larceny and possession of heroin.

Michael Lynch, 37, is being charged by prosecutor Kym Worthy for stealing from the police station between Feb. 4 and Feb. 10. The specifics will be provided in court on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the District Court in Harper Woods.

It is alleged that Lynch stole various items from the police department's property room, according to a press release from Wayne County.

Lynch's charges include one count of misconduct in office, six counts of larceny in a building and one count of possession of heroin.
