FREE Hunter Education Courses for Wayne County Residents

Wayne County and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) are teaming up to promote safe and fair hunting practices by offering free hunter education courses to Wayne County residents at Nankin Mills in Westland. The three-part course series aims to teach safe hunting techniques, firearm handling and hunter ethics.

Hunter safety is required if you were born after January 1, 1960 and you want to purchase any Michigan hunting license, or if you are planning an out-of-state hunting trip. Since its inception, hunter education courses has taught thousands of new hunters firearm safety, responsibility, ethics, wildlife conservation and identification, game care, survival and first aid, dramatically reducing the number of hunting incidents reported each year.

Who:  Hunters born after January 1, 1960 who want to purchase any Michigan hunting license, or are planning an out-of-state hunting trip.

When:  (3-part course series)— October 22, 24 and 26 from 5:30pm – 9:00pm
