Grosse Pointe Farms Police Rescue Man from Icy Lake St. Clair
A motorist reported seeing the man walking around the snow-covered shoreline, then looking back and not seeing him.

GROSSE POINTE FARMS, MI β A man who fell through the ice during a Wednesday morning walk around Lake St. Clair was rescued by Grosse Pointe Farms police officers and is now recovering at St. John Hospital. Police were called to the area of Lakeshore and Moran after a motorist saw the man walking in the snow at the edge of the lake, then looked back again and didnβt see him.
When police arrived, the man was struggling in the water, and Officer Geoff McQueen jumped into the icy water to rescue him, Grosse Pointe Farms Police Lt. Richard Rosati told The Detroit News. McQueen boosted the man up while two other officers helped pull him to safety.
The man was conscious and alert when he was transported to the hospital. McQueen declined medical treatment.
