Grosse Pointe Officers Safely Help Deer Find Her Way Home

Police Officers Concerned about Female Deer Wandering at Grosse Pointe Yacht Club, Lure Her to safety.

GROSSE POINTE SHORES — Two of Grosse Pointe’s finest are credited with helping a doe find its way back to the wild.

Sgt. Ron Coste and Officer Ryan Wilson were patrolling the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club on Aug. 16, when they noticed the female deer wandering into the traffic lanes.

Concerned for the deer’s safety, as well as that of area motorists, the officers coaxed the deer into their cruiser and took her to a safe location, where she was released on her own recognizance.
