Grosse Pointe Teen Charged In Threat That Led To HS Lockdown: Police
The teenager is facing charges after police said she made a shooting threat that sent Grosse Pointe North High School into lockdown.
GROSSE PONITE, MI — A Grosse Pointe teenager is facing charges after police said she made a shooting threat that sent Grosse Pointe North High School into lockdown on Monday.
The 14-year-old student was charged with filing a false report or threat of terrorism, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office. Officials did not identify the teen girl, but said she was a student at the high school.
The teen girl was expected to appear for a Tuesday afternoon hearing in the Wayne County Juvenile Detention Center.

Officials threw the high school into lockdown after receiving information about a potential active shooter threat. Police immediately investigated the threat and determined there was no active shooter or any threat to students or staff.
The high school was locked down for roughly 30 minutes.

"We'd like to thank our local public safety departments and our North administration and staff for their quick response and professionalism today," district officials said on Facebook.
