Travelers from all over the area can celebrate today as the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel celebrates a birthday.
The first car passed through the tunnel on this date, Nov. 3 1930, and since, more than 3.7 million other cars have followed.
In fact, over 12,000 cars travel the tunnel every day.
The bridge is the world’s first and only underwater vehicular tunnel connecting two countries.
In honor of the tunnel’s 85th birthday, a mural will be designed for the Detroit toll plaza, according to a report on WXYZ-TV.
