In Photos: Grosse Pointe North Football Falls To Cousino

It was everything a division rivalry contest should be—tough and hard-fought.

In the end, however, couldn't stop the Patriots ground attack, nor muster enough offense of its own, to get by Cousino on Friday night, falling, 15-0, in front of the home crowd.

A fourth-quarter touchdown off a turnover helped the Pats push the score to 15-0 with just under 4 minutes remaining in the final quarter.

Despite a North threat in the wanning moments of the game, when quarterback Jack Stander connected with Anthony Sarkis to move the Norsemen into the Cousino red zone, Cousino was able to pick off a Stander pass and run out the clock.

The loss drops North to 1-2 on the season, 1-1, in the Macomb Area Conference White.

Next up for the squad is a road trip to Utica High Sept. 16, where head coach Frank Sumbera and his squad will meet up with the Chieftains.
