Is Body Found Near Grosse Pointe Yacht Club that of Missing Boater?
Police say it's too soon to connect the discovery of a body near the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club with the disappearance of a Detroit man whose capsized boat was discovered April 14.
The Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office hopes to determine if the body discovered by a construction worker Wednesday morning near the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club is that of a man whose boat capsized on Lake St. Clair on April 14.
The body, found on the shoreline near the break wall, appeared to have been in the water for some time, The Detroit News reports.
The body has been released to the medical examiner’s office to determine the cause of death and the decedent’s identity. There were no signs of trauma, Grosse Pointe Police Lt. Scott Rohr told the newspaper.
