Living Hope is Turning 1!

I can’t believe it, but Living Hope Evangelical Church is turning 1!  Sunday, October 14, 2012 we had our first worship service at Pierce Middle School, and it has been a wild and amazing journey ever since!  We have been blessed to be able to meet at Pierce Middle School and now Brownell Middle School on Sunday mornings, and Grace Community Church on Wednesday nights.  We have had wonderful people pray for us and send money to help and support us even though we have never even met them, simply because they heard our story and wanted to be a blessing!

During the past year, we have prayed together, worshiped together, studied together, worried, cried, and stressed together, and worked to glorify God together.  Living Hope is blessed with wonderful people who step up in amazing ways to fill in the gaps, both cavernous and small.  We had people stand up and volunteer to do all sorts of things from carrying tubs to teaching Sunday School to looking at possible new buildings and spaces.  I have done things I never expected to do as a pastor like have office hours at an Einstein Bagels and store communion supplies in my dining room, not to mention start my own blog!

When I graduated from seminary, I never dreamed I would be part of a church experience like this!  It has been fun, stressful, exciting, challenging and full of lessons God has taught us.  We have learned that we don’t need our own building to worship.  We have learned that God can, and often does, work through situations we don’t understand.  We have learned that God equips us for many different kinds of ministries and situations and we need rely on Him for strength and wisdom.  Above all, we have learned to trust God’s plan, God’s grace, and God’s many blessings for us!
