“It appears they tried to take the ATM machine but were unsuccessful,” Detroit Police Officer Dan Donakowski told the Free Press. “They did flee with an undisclosed amount of cash, but it is uncertain at this time if the cash came from the ATM or the store.”

WXYZ reports that sources believe these suspects to be the same suspects that hit stores on Christmas and Christmas Eve.

According to the Free Press, police have said it is unknown whether two of the men may have been the same men who stole an ATM machine from a restaurant early Christmas morning. Similar to the CVS theft, two men ran a car into the front of the restaurant in the 9900 block of Gratiot Avenue at 4 a.m., loaded the ATM into their vehicle and drove away.
