Metro Detroit Man Attacked, Dragged To Van While Walking Dog: Police

A 20-year-old man told police he was attacked and nearly abducted while walking his dog​ in Grosse Pointe Woods, police said.

GROSSE POINTE WOODS, MI — A 20-year-old man told police he was attacked and nearly abducted while walking his dog in Grosse Pointe Woods, police said.

Police said the man was walking his dog at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday on the 2100 block of Lennon St, which is just off Vernier Avenue between Mack Avenue and Interstate 94, when he was assaulted and dragged to a white work van.

The 20-year-old man was able to fight off the attacker and run away, police said.

Police described the van as a work van, possibly a Ford Econoline with "whited out" windows. They also described the attacker as a white man between the ages of 40 to 45, about 6 feet tall with a medium build and a clean-shaven face. He was wearing a black jacket, black pants and a black winter hat, police said.
