North Theater Students Prepare 'A Little Murder'

Grosse Pointe North High School theater students put the finishing touches on their fall presentation of 'A Little Murder Never Hurt Anybody,' which opens on Sept. 29.

theater students worked Monday to put the finishing touches on their fall presentation of The play opens with a dress rehearsal on Sept. 29 and performances on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. 

The play, which is inspired by the screwball comedies of the '30s and '40s, has only six characters: Matthew Perry (Logan Hart, 11), Julia Perry (Katie Murray, 12), Bunny Perry (Claire Schreiber, 12), Buttram (Pearce Reickert, 10), Donald Baxter (Jacob VandenBoom, 11) and Detective Plotnik (Kyle Stefek, 11).

Many other North students are busily working behind the scenes on set building, technical support, wardrobe, props and theater staff. The play is written by local writer and playwright Ron Bernas. Marty Bufalini is director, with Dan Vicary acting as head technical director.

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Sept. 29 and 8 p.m. Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and are available at on Mack Avenue.
