Photo Gallery: Bye, Bye, Birdie!

A three week theatre camp for students culiminated in two performances of Bye, Bye, Birdie at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial Thursday.

Students from a musical theatre camp performed Bye, Bye, Birdie twice Thursday, July 7, in public performances at the . 

Approximately 60 students participated, ranging in age from 8 to 14 years old. The play is about a rockstar being called away to war. 

The camp, started on June 20. In addition to acting, the camp offered students a chance to work off-stage through the development of the musical production.

Theater camp directors Heather Albrecht and Michelle Stackpoole thanked a nearly full auditorium prior to the start of the musical Thursday. They praised the students for their resilience when rehearsal time in the Fries Auditorium was lost due to water damage.

The camp is held annually and information about next summer's camp will be available in the spring of 2012. The next play runs July 3, 2012, the directors said.
