Police Blotter: Alleged Assault After Club Visit, Gym Locker Ransacked

The following information is gathered from the public safety departments of the Grosse Pointes. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Grosse Pointe Farms

Drunken parking

Police were called to the 200 block of Kercheval about 2:30 a.m. Sept. 30 for a suspicious vehicle in the drive of the home. When officers arrived, they found the vehicle to be running and the driver sleeping. The officer woke the driver, who stated that he had been at a local bar. A preliminary blood test determined he had a blood alcohol level of .185 and was arrested for operating while intoxicated.

Christmas in September

Police were called to the on Sept. 24 after the owner discovered 20 Christmas tree air fresheners were missing. A review of a surveillance tape showed a man in his 30s, about 6 foot 3 inches tall and 160 pounds, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and dark pants, take the air fresheners off the shelf and put them in his pocket. He attempted to purchase items, but told the cashier he didn't have any money and left the building.

Suspicious teens

Police were called Oct. 2 after police were called after three males seen walking on Stanton looking into car windows. The suspects were seen running north and fleeing in an older model red Ford pickup truck. One resident reported that an iPod was stolen from a vehicle. Police were able to locate a vehicle matching the description, but the iPod was not located.

Bank flower bed damaged

A 16-year-old allegedly lost control of his Ford Mustang Oct. 1 and drove into flower bed of the  after his 14-year-old brother punched him in the arm three times. The 14-year-old was booked for domestic violence and released to his parent.

Grosse Pointe Woods

Alleged assault

A 46-year-old Grosse Pointe Woods resident was arrested early Oct. 1 for an alleged assault of a 28-year-old Eastpointe woman in his home in the 600 block of Pierrian Place. The man is alleged to have met the woman at Fishbones in St. Clair Shores, and after having a few drinks, went to Players strip club. After a few drinks at the club, they returned to his house and he is reported to have attempted to touch her. After going to the bathroom, she stated that she wanted to go back to her vehicle. He is alleged to have grabbed her, threatened her and pointed a gun at her. She fled the house and ran to a neighbor's house to call police.

House break-in

A 47-year-old resident in the 19200 block of Linville reported a home invasion Sept. 29. Pry marks were found in the rear window of the house and muddy footprints on the carpet in the dining room.

Gym locker theft

A 15-year-old Grosse Pointe Woods resident reported he had nearly $800 worth of clothing and jewelry stolen Sept. 29 from his gym locker at . Items taken included a Ralph Lauren sweater and belt, True Religion jeans and Citizen watch.

Stolen bicycle found

The mother of a 14-year-old boy whose bike was recently reported stolen spotted it Sept. 26. The mother and her son were driving back from soccer practice when they saw an 18-year-old sitting on the bicycle at the gas station. After questioning by the mother, the teen admitted to taking the bicycle. He was later arrested by police for possessing stolen property.

Pillow stolen

A 35-year-old homeowner in the 700 block of Roslyn called police on Sept. 26 to report a $200 pillow he bought in Japan was stolen from his home.
