Sweet Lorraine's Fabulous Mac n' Cheez! Opens First Franchise Location in Detroit's Renaissance Center

Founded in 2010 as an extension of the popular Southfield-based Sweet Lorraine’s Café and Bar, Sweet Lorraine’s Fabulous Mac n’ Cheez!, has grown to four locations in the metropolitan area, with the most recent being a franchise location.

Opened in Detroit’s Renaissance Center in late November, the Renaissance Center location marks the beginning of the locally-based business’ expansion plans via franchising.

The recipes and concept for Sweet Lorraine’s Fabulous Mac n’ Cheez! originated at the award-winning Sweet Lorraine’s by veteran restaurateur and chef, “Sweet Lorraine” Platman and her business partner and husband, Gary Sussman.

The fast, casual eatery concept specializes in unique, creative and inventive macaroni and cheese dishes and offering vegetarian and gluten-free soups, salads, sandwich wraps, “Twisted” grilled cheese and 14 different kinds of vegetarian and meat-topped made-fresh-to-order macaroni and cheese.

Platman likes to call the offerings at Sweet Lorraine’s Fabulous Mac n’ Cheez!, “Twisted Comfort Food!” Customers order and watch as servers assemble their cheesy, fresh, hot dishes. Soups, salads and sandwiches are also prepared in view of diners.

Sweet Lorraine’s Fabulous Mac n’ Cheez!, has recently signed to bring a franchise to Chicago with many other agreements being discussed and interest generated from around the country and beyond.

The Renaissance Center location (located in Suite 200) joins three established corporate locations in Auburn Hills (Great Lakes Crossing), Troy (The Somerset Collection) and East Lansing, which opened earlier this year.
