The cast and crew of The Grosse Theatre are putting the finishing touches on the upcoming musical production of The Scarlet Pimpernel.

Actors will play out the story of loyal friends during the French Revolution with "swashbuckling heroes, beautiful heroines, bravery, intrigue, chivalry, loyalty and passion, wrapped in a beautiful and compelling score," according to the theater's website. 

This is the last show of their season, which also featured Annie Get Your Gun, Relatively Speaking, Godspell and Dixie Swim Club.

The show opens May 8 in the Fries Auditorium in the Grosse Pointe War Memorial. Additional shows are offered May 12 to 15; 18 to 21. Tickets are $24 and can be purchased online
