METRO DETROIT, MI – You’ll soon have an extra hour of sunlight (hopefully) at the end of your day with the beginning of Daylight Saving Time.

So what are the sunrise and sunset times with the switch to Daylight Saving Time?
In Metro Detroit, the sun will rise at 7:47 a.m. Sunday and set t 7:37 p.m. The sunrise and sunset times can vary by a few seconds from community to community.

The beginning of Daylight Saving Time is also a good time to change smoke alarm batteries, according to the American Red Cross of Southeast Michigan, which is participating in the national Home Fire Preparedness Campaign intended to reduce house fires, which make up the bulk of the 70,000 emergencies the agency responds to each year.
