Woman Arrested After Police Chase In Stolen Tesla: VIDEO
The woman led police on a chase around metro Detroit in a Tesla she took for a test drive from a dealership.
HARPER WOODS, MI — A 20-year-old woman was arrested Monday evening after leading police on a chase in a Tesla she took for a test drive, Michigan State Police said.
Police chased the woman through multiple metro Detroit counties before finally boxing her in on Vernier Road near the I-94 service drive in Harper Woods, police said.
The Troy Police Department said employees at a dealership activated the car's onboard tracking and reported the car stolen to police after the woman didn't return it from a "test drive."

Police first located the car on I-75 near Rochester Road. When police attempted a traffic stop, the woman fled, beginning a chase through Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties, police said.

After the first PIT maneuver by police failed, a second attempt was successful on Vernier Road near the I-94 service drive, police said.
A video of the chase does not show the woman’s arrest to avoid identifying the suspect prior to any charges being filed, police said.
