• Detroit police homicide detective charged with OWI after wrong-way crash captured on surveillance video (wxyz.com) — A Detroit homicide detective is facing drunk driving and firearm-related charges after allegedly driving the wrong way on Vernier Road in Harper Woods, crashing into another car, and then walking away from the scene. Surveillance video from a nearby college captured the incident, and the officer has been suspended with pay while the case moves toward an Oct. 26 court date.
