• Zenith Workshops and Fly-In Returning to Michigan (generalaviationnews.com) — A hands-on Zenith Aircraft workshop and informal fly-in are headed to Livingston County Airport in Howell on October 9–10, 2026, giving locals a chance to try building a rudder section from a kit. Space is limited and fees apply, but aviation enthusiasts can also simply fly or drive in, camp, and connect with other Zenith builders and pilots.
   

• Charyl Stockwell Academy enrolled 10 Hispanic students in 2024-25 (livingstontoday.com) — Charyl Stockwell Academy's district, headquartered in Howell, now enrolls just 10 Hispanic students at its main academy campus, only 1.4% of 696 students for 2024-25. The share of Hispanic students has steadily declined over the past decade, even as overall enrollment grew. Statewide test data show persistent achievement gaps between Hispanic, Black, and white students.
   

• What's Going Around in Metro Detroit: Dehydration, heat-related illnesses, tick bites, cyclosporiasis (clickondetroit.com) — Doctors across Metro Detroit, including a Howell family medicine practice, report sinus infections and a rise in poison ivy cases in Livingston County. The broader region is also seeing dehydration, heat-related illness, various respiratory viruses, GI bugs, and sports injuries, with physicians urging good hydration, handwashing, and up-to-date physicals and vaccines as school and fall sports ramp up.
