Baker College of Flint to hold financial aid workshop Saturday, Feb. 6
College-bound students can get help to complete the FASFA from required for federal financial aid and possibly win a $500 scholarship.

Baker College of Flint will hold its 2016 Financial Aid Workshop, 9-11:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 6. The event is designed to help prospective college-bound students and their parents or guardians learn about Baker College’s career programs and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2016-2017 academic year.
The FAFSA determines the eligibility of college students for annual federal student financial aid, including Pell Grants, student loans and work-study funds. The workshop is free of charge and open to all prospective college students, whether or not they have identified their colleges of choice.
There will be a drawing for attendees to win one of four $500 vouchers for tuition and/or books at Baker College of Flint.

Advisors and financial aid officers will be available to provide one-on-one assistance about financial aid, Baker College of Flint and its academic programs. Baker College students have access to financial assistance, including scholarships, grants, low-interest loans and work-study programs.

9-9:30 a.m. Check in, welcome and hot breakfast.
9:30-10:30 a.m. Financial aid presentation, Q&A and FAFSA completion.
10:30-11:30 a.m. Optional individual advising and campus tours.
Parents and students are encouraged to bring the following information if available: 2015 U.S. federal tax forms 1040 and W-2, and 2015 untaxed income amounts (e.g., Aid to Dependent Children, Social Security, child support, etc.).
The workshop will be held on the Baker College of Flint campus, 1050 W. Bristol Road, Flint. Check-in will be at the west end of the Center for Undergraduate Studies building.
