Baker College human resource MBA earns nod from professional society

Baker College's MBA in human resource management has received alignment renewal from the Society for Human Resource Management through 2022.

Baker College’s MBA in human resource management has received alignment renewal from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) through 2022.

This acknowledgement means the graduate program is in alignment with SHRM’s “HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates.”

“Meeting the requirements of SHRM alignment is exceptionally advantageous to Baker College’s human resource management MBA program and its students,” said Jill Langen, Ph.D., Baker College Online/Center for Graduate Studies president. “Having our program elements mirror the needs of the HR industry helps us provide the highest quality education for our students and better positions them for professional success.”

Langen noted that SHRM professional certification, now only available to working professionals, will be opened to students in programs designated in SHRM alignment, such as Baker College’s human resource management MBA, beginning December 2017.

Baker College is one of two Michigan schools that offer an MBA program that has been acknowledged by SHRM as being in alignment.

The alignment designation is part of SHRM’s initiative to define HR education standards taught at university business schools and to help universities develop degree programs that follow these standards.
