Being Thankful for a Bath and All The Small Things!

The Benefit for Abby Fountaine was a huge success!  We were overwhelmed by the love and support shown for Miss Abby and the benefit.  Thank you all who attended, donated your time and gracious contributions. We wanted to give you an update on the little girl we all gathered to support.

If there is one thing I think most of us are guilty of, it would be taking things for granted.  Especially the little things. Recently, Abby had her pic line removed.  Abby was so excited just to be able to take a bath with having to prep her arm before AND she could even get her whole arm wet! Abby’s surgery is scheduled for November 22nd, not the best way to spend Thanksgiving, but she is grateful her Daddy can be there for the surgery and the whole weekend.  She will have several different doctors due to the location of the tumors and will last approximately 6 hours.  After, she will be in the PICU for a day or so then on to the cancer floor to heal, where she could remain as long as a few weeks, depending on how long it will take her to heal.  The bonus her family says, is they have 2 weeks to “fatten” her up, as she will not be eating for a few days.  She will go through invasive incisions, extensive surgery and lengthy healing process and she is only 6.  Please pray for Abbys health and healing and everything her family is enduring, think of them this Holiday Season. While you are eating turkey at the table this Thanksgiving, remember everything you have to be thankful for, especially the little things, like baths! Team Callan will be thinking of you and praying for you Miss Abby!
