A Fight? Not the Teenagers!
A little vulgar for my first post but iI must be brave. I can't stand it when a few people ruin years worth of good reputation.

So, since today is my first official day of blogging I won’t post a story, which I plan on doing every Friday. I wanted to do so this morning, but something bigger has caught my attention.
Now it might be too soon to criticize this but at Hartland High School there was a fight. I was not at the fight and I wasn’t aware that this had happened till this morning. In all honesty, I wish I would have never known.
Is this what we've really come down to fellow highschoolers?

I mean, c’mon, going to the news and reporting this? Are you serious? Fights happen- get over it. Yes, she got the snot beaten out of her but that doesn’t mean the world has to know.
What part of your brain thinks that going to a national news station is going to get you any more satisfaction than putting criminal charges on the person. I'm sorry, but I can't find a reason to this.

Here I sit, listening to people all day talk about this fight. Fights happen all the time in high schools, you don’t hear about all the ones that happen in Brighton or Howell or any other high school do you? No, you don’t and there’s a reason.
"But the fight was posted on Facebook"
Since when has that made us lose our heads and run to the local news casting station and shove it in their face? Not many times. I can bring you to YouTube, or even Facebook, and find plenty of videos of people, whether they are high school or not, fighting. Beating each other until they bleed. Did they get news reports?
And on the back from random stranger going, "it’s okay”, “I’m glad you’re okay" "I hope that person is sent to jail." No, they don’t, they deal with their business like adults. I'm sorry, like mature human beings and deal with the issue privately. They file the law suit, have family and friends support them and move on.
Why are we allowing ourselves to fall into this trap of endearment?
"It's just human compassion"
No wrong, stop. It’s not human compassion- it's being ignorant.
I guess I’ve fallen to it as well. Posting about this stupid fight that has been blown out of proportion. But someone needs to say what at least some of us are thinking, I mean I can't be the only one. Right?
This girl, she was obviously hurt and I hope she recovers fine and I hope justice is served. Now that that’s out of the way, get your lawsuit over with so you can stop filling the conversations of my friends with this stupid fight.
I again say that this doesn’t need to be public. Do we really need to know that she was sent to the hospital and that she's filling a lawsuit?
No! No, no, no, no and NO. Just stop.
You’re embarrassing yourself and the high school. Not only that, I have to go to my friends and other people who ask where I go and say that I go to Hartland High School. And you know what they're going to say about it?
"Oh... that’s the school with the big fight, right? Man, you guys must have an awful school."
So thank you, for ruining our reputation. I greatly appreciate it.
