Big Brothers Big Sisters Funny Photo Contest, Big Sister Martha and Little Sister Samantha

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Livingston County is currently running a funny photo contest with their Big and Little matches. We are sharing them with our Hartland Patch friends to let everyone know how fun and easy being a Big Brother or Big Sister is. The best way to describe my very new Big Sister/ Little Sister match is, " Love at
First Sight"!  From the first day I met my Little Sister I knew we would become fast friends.  Our match is only three weeks old but we already have a comfortable rhythm when we hang out. We have been to dinner,went to lunch at her school, spent an afternoon at Kensington Metro Park Farm looking at all the farm animals  and a very entertaining tea party at my house with our friendly stuffed bear named "Mason".  The crazy thing about being a Big Sister for me is the fact that I thought I was the one that was going to be huge influence on my Little Sister but as it turned out she has changed my life in a short time!   She has taught me more things in three weeks than I was expecting.  She taught me that everyone matters, everyone is a "somebody" regardless of our circumstances and happiness is not dependent on those circumstances.  I am looking forward to watching my Little Sister grow and mature while being a constant encourager to her!
