Do You Read To Your Children?
Reading aloud to your children is one of the greatest gifts you can give them.

The average numbers of bed time stories read in our house is now seven. With three kids and myself all loving a good bed time story we try to keep it to only seven stories per night. I let each kid choose two stories and then I pick the last story. Taking the time to bond with my children through books is irreplaceable. We have become even closer to one another because we can appreciate new ideas, different cultures, fun stories all through books. These stories bring to additional conversation through out the week. These books help to spark creative play and the most interesting story telling.
I am here because I have a passion for literacy and my family. I am excited to begin my journey as a Hartland Patch Blogger. I will be blogging about great books for kids age ranges from birth through high school. I will share literacy tips and tricks with you. I can't wait to help you bring great books and stories to your home.
I was lucky enough to spend the day at Lansing's Potter Park Zoo with my 3-year-old's Hartland preschool class. So my pick for tonight is going to be One Night in the Zoo written and illustrated by Judith Kerr.

Its famous line is: "One magical, moonlit night in the zoo an elephant jumped in the air and flew?"
