Hartland: A film makers paradise?
Hartland film maker 101. Short History on Scallywag Entertainment .

Hello Hartlandians,
My name is Michael B Clark and welcome to my very first Patch blog! I was lucky enough to have a feature story written about my company last week and was honored to be asked to start blogging for the Hartland Patch. So I guess it would be proper to give a basic introduction to me and what I do.
If you missed the article I am an independent film maker, actor, writer and director. Oh I know what you're thinking....Nope you're wrong ! I don't know Brad Pitt ( sorry ladies) I don't have a private jet ( hoping my 7 year old truck lasts another 7 years) and instead of caviar I eat lots of ram-en noodles. Such is the life of an independent artist. We beg and borrow to make our art in hopes people will watch and connect to it on some level. Film making first and foremost is a passion and if you get into it to make millions then you're in for a big surprise. All that said I expect to be flying to Brad's house house in my private jet snacking on fish eggs one day, but if it doesn't happen I will keep chipping away.

Obsessed by films since childhood I always knew it was what I wanted to do, but as life goes you get sidetracked. Took me 40 years to realize my dreams and finally say "when I grow up I want to be a film maker... Holy Schinke!!! I am all grown up! I better get started!" Fast forward to today and I have well respected production company and we are working on several exciting projects. We have worked for Ally bank , The Chrysler Museum, Special Olympics and did a series of S.A.D.D. public service announcements that recently played at the Hartland high school. We have have made award winning original short films that have played in festivals all over the globe and have had original screenplays optioned by Hollywood. All sounds exciting but but in the big picture we are just getting our feet wet. We have a long road ahead of us before we get a star on the " Walk of Fame".
That being said my business partner Steve Gast and I are making a big move with our next two projects and I hope you... Yes YOU can play a part in this. We have a feature horror comedy film and an exciting interactive movie that we are in production on and we are looking in your backyard to make it. We are scouting locations in and around Hartland and I will be putting out the call soon for you, the fine citizens of Hartland Township, to help find shooting locations and even roles for extras to be in the films. Cmon, who doesn't want to be a zombie for a few days?
