Round Elementary Students Celebrate Reading

Students average 400,000 words in an accelerated reading competition.

As a paraprofessional who helps man the main desk at , I am happy to share some of the results of an accelerated reader competition between the second-, third- and fourth-graders. Here are a few AMAZING stats from Mr. Kromer, a fourth-grade teacher at Round:

  • Students read more than 90 million words this year.
  • The average was 400,000 words per student or 13 books the size of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Those students who met their classroom goals were invited to watch the Hartland High School varsity girls softball team play in a recent game. In-between the doubleheader, the students were allowed to run the bases.

Way to go Round students!
