When life gets busy, it's important to keep reading

Everyone has busy lives. Working reading in is one way to reduce the stress.

This week has been busy for me both personally and professionally. It seems like when more events, activities, and appointments I have on the calendar, the less time I have for reading. I hate giving up my daily time set aside for reading.

Even though my job is to promote literacy, I still find it hard to incorporate all the reading I would prefer to do in my active life. My children do not understand when I use the excuse I am too tired to read seven bedtime stories. They are in a positive routine and why should I change that?

I have committed to continuing our nightly reading and bonding time. I am also going to take the time to at least read 20 minutes during down time throughout the day or before hitting the pillow. I believe that there shouldn’t be a good enough excuse not to do daily reading. When life gets busier, I probably will have a little added stress and therefore should take even more time for myself for reading. I love escaping through reality into a great story that can bring fun emotions to my mind.
