Cash Swiped in Wednesday Business Thefts

Police reports: Electric trimmer also taken.

More than $1,300 in cash and an electric trimmer worth $60 were stolen during the break-ins of four Hartland Township businesses early Wednesday, according to Livingston County Sheriff's Department reports.

The new details emerge two days after the sheriff announced an up to $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect believed to be involved in the heists that occurred in two separate locations near U.S. 23 and M-59. The department had released five pictures of surveillance video. (See in box).

The thefts were at Hartland Coney & Restaurant and Vicky's Hair Care Salon, which are at 2835 N. Old U.S. 23, and at Great Clips, 10588 Highland Road and Ocean Star Chinese Take Out, 10578 Highland Road, which are in the Hartland Plaza.

Reports said a blunt object was used in one of the break-ins, which happened at rear entrances of the building in three of the cases. In the other, a shared room was used to gain access, reports said.

The incidents also follow another break-in that occurred Sunday night at the , which is part of the Hartland Plaza. Police have said so far there's nothing to tie them together, but it's possible they are connected.
