Community Celebrates First-Grader's Disney Dream Come True Through Make-A-Wish
Bryn Adams celebrated at a party with family and donors from HomeFirst Certified, who made the trip possible
When seven-year-old Bryn Adams was diagnosed with leukemia, her dream was to visit Disney World with her family. HomeFirst Certified, a collection of manufactured home communities in Michigan, established a fundraising initiative with their residents to raise the money needed to realize Bryn’s dream through the Make-A-Wish Michigan organization.
Adams, a first grader at Gier Elementary in Hillsdale, and her family celebrated the experience and shared memories from her trip with dozens of HomeFirst Certified residents who contributed to the yearlong fundraising program. The celebration took place at the Walnut Ridge Community in Jackson, and included donors who raised the needed $5,000 to send Adams and her family to Disney World this spring.
“At HomeFirst Certified, we wanted to give back to a community organization and were struck by how much joy the Make-A-Wish program is able to give to children,” said Jasmine Guajardo, marketing coordinator for HomeFirst Certified. “Bryn is so bright and positive, and her energy has really had an impact on our residents. We are thrilled that our work has been able to put a smile on her face and to send her and her family on the trip of a lifetime.”
