Davison Man Dies in Hartland Motorcycle Crash Over the Weekend

Speed appears to be a factor, according to police.

A 52-year-old Davison man died Saturday afternoon after he lost control of his motorcycle while driving through a curve of Old U.S. 23, north of Clyde Road in Hartland, according to a news release from the Livingston County Sheriff's Department.

Timothy McLaughlan, who was traveling northbound, was pronounced dead at the scene from crash-related injuries when his 1984 Honda motorcycle struck the highway fence of southbound U.S. 23, the release said. Speed appears to be a factor in the crash while it does not appear that drugs or alcohol were involved, police said. McLaughlan was wearing a helmet.

Old U.S. 23 at Clyde was closed for about three hours during an investigation at the scene.
