Did Howell's James Rigato Remain Alive on 'Top Chef'?

Dearborn native Mei Lin won the elimination challenge, and James Rigato of Howell also remained in the game.

The two chefs with Detroit ties competing on the Bravo network’s “Top Chef” remain in the competition after the Season 12 opener Wednesday.

The local contestants include James Rigato of Howell, executive chef of The Root Restaurant & Bar in White Lake, and former Dearborn resident http://www.bravotv.com/top-chef a sous chef at ink. in West Hollywood. Both are graduates of Schoolcraft College.

Lin won the sudden-death quickfire, the major elimination challenge that required the contestants to prepare a dish for a party of 250, and Rigato also stayed alive.
