Driver Killed on US 23, Road Remains Closed
Police say a semi truck swerved into a passenger car, crushing the car and killing the driver.

Southbound US-23 is closed at Barker Rd. in Northfield Township while police perform a vehicle extrication from an accident that occurred at 1 p.m., according the Michigan State Police- Brighton Post.
Police say that a preliminary investigation indicates a passenger car, with one occupant, was traveling southbound in the left lane next to a semi truck when the truck’s tire blew out, causing the driver to lose control and swerve into the left lane, striking the car.
The passenger car was crushed, according to police, killing the single, male occupant driver. Police say alcohol was not a factor.
