A community contra dance is scheduled for the third Wednesday of each month March through May from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Howell Opera House.
The next dance takes place March 16; future dances are scheduled for April 20 and May 18.
Contra dancing is a historic type of dance that is quite similar to square dancing. All dances to be performed will be taught on-site and have live musical accompaniment including, fiddle, dulcimer and keyboard. No partner is needed.

Cost $5 per person at the door.
