The Girl Scouts are holding a family fun carnival from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23 at Creekside Elementary School that includes games, balloon animals, and face painting.
There is a $1 charge for every four tickets you purchase at the door. Proceeds benefit schoolwide scout activities for the upcoming year.
Five separate Girl Scout troops are based at Creekside and include 70 girls, said Troop Coordinator Melissa Purdy; this fundraiser supports not only their "fun activities" but service projects supporting not only the school but the greater community.

Possible projects for the school year include Toys for Tots and community garden with produce to go to local food pantries.
