- Prevention (preventing water emergencies)
- Fitness (developing swimming skills)
- Response (how to respond to an emergency, use CPR/AED)
- Leadership (learning leadership qualities)
- Professionalism (a high standard of behavior toward work and school)
Who can take GUARDSTART?
GUARDSTART students must be between the ages of 9 and 14.
Are their any pre-requirements?
Yes, students must be able to swim one length of our pool, tread water for 1 minute, and swim underwater for 10 yards.
Can my child find a job as a lifeguard after this class?
No. The full lifeguard class requires students to be 15 years of age and is more intense physically and academically.
