If you’ve never heard a real owl, or for that matter seen one up close, than this is the nature walk for you. Prowls will be taking place at 5 different parks: Maybury in Northville, Sleepy Hollow in Laingsburg, Hayes in Onsted, Eddy Discovery Center in Chelsea, and the Brighton Rec Area in Howell.
Join one of our naturalists on a 30-45 minute walk through the woods. The owls will be called … listen closely to see if they respond. Hopefully you’ll see one up on his perch, wide-eyed and regal as he surveys his woods. After the hike, stick around for a bonfire and marshmallow roast. (No bonfire at Waterloo – sorry!).
Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather as you will be outside for the duration. Event is held rain or shine.

Bring something to drink, binoculars, a roasting stick if you have one, and a great outdoor or nature story to share. No pre-registration is required, but a Recreation Passport is required for park entry.
