Final Outdoor Summer Concert Features Local Musician Samantha Parks

The invites the public to attend its final free outdoor concert Wednesday, Aug. 8 from 7-8 p.m. in Millie’s Garden. Featured will be . Parks is an up-in-coming local musician influenced by both country and pop music.  Her music is acoustic-based and her arrangements offer a fresh, unique style. 

Born and raised in Hartland, Parks initially discovered her passion for music at a young age, taking part in local school and church choirs. At 8-years-old, she received her first guitar as a gift and began taking lessons with Scott Christopher, with whom she would later record her first album. Samantha first recognized her songwriting potential at age thirteen when her close friend passed away. Samantha found she was able to channel her feelings through lyrics and a new passion was born.

Parks found that her writing happened naturally as she experienced life. “I don't make a conscious decision to write about something, it just flows out based on what I am feeling and experiencing at that moment in my life.” This spontaneity is exemplified in the song “Sisters,” which evolved at age sixteen when her sister was preparing to leave for college. Samantha also finds inspiration in other places: conversations with friends, family, and acquaintances, reflections upon her own life, and observations of her friends going through various experiences – both good and bad – as reflected in “Six Seconds”.

Now 19-years-old and partnered with producer Scott Christopher, Parks has completed an eleven song, fully produced album titled “Everything I Am.” Visit her website: www.samanthaparksmusic.com and check out some of her great songs.
