Guess Which TV Newsman Has the Best Hair in Michigan

The election results are in. No, not on Proposal 1. We're talking about a contest of a more whimsical nature.

Of all the important decisions things going Michigan today, a contest to determine which local TV newsman has the best hair is as dumb as, well, a bucket of hair.

Oh, what the heck.

There was such a contest, sponsored by a website whose name is so filled with double entendre that good taste dictates linking to it without editorial comment, and the winners have been revealed, based on four criteria: thickness, volume, style and lack of baldness.

Drumroll, please.

WXYZ-TV sports anchor Brad Galli not only received an Emmy Award as Michigan’s best sports reporter, he’s the Michigan winner in the whimsical contest

Why the judges liked him: “Brad’s hair is that it isn’t too overwhelming or in your face. His hair is like the sweet, kind boyfriend you took home to meet your parents for Thanksgiving in college. It’s the kind of hair that would absolutely help an elderly lady across the street. It’s the quality of hair that would say, ‘guys, c’mon, show a little class’ when his buddies take it too far when talking about a hot chick that walks by.”

Galli says his great head of hair is thanks to Stephen Trachsel, who cuts hair at The Barber Pole in Birmingham. He’s been Galli’s barber since the newsman was 12.

“I like the environment at my barber shop, and I’m glad to say that the friendship is the only thing behind my hair,” Galli said.

Aw.

Michigan’s runner up is Jon Jordan, style editor for WDIV-TV, cited for the “organized chaos” that is his head of hair.

“If you don’t love his fashion sense and style, you will love his hair,” the website claims. “f you also don’t love his hair, then you aren’t human and you should go back to your cave.”

  • So, who does your do, and what about it do they do so well?
