Hartland took on Rockford at noon and this was an exciting game from the get go. The pace was quick with shots coming from all over the field. Both goalies did a good job of stopping a lot of shots and keeping the score close. Rockford went up late in the game, but Hartland managed to fight back and take the win. A goal was removed from the scoreboard after it was questioned by Rockford. The players stick was illegal with the pocket being too deep.
Hartland worked past that and was able to be triumphant at the end with an 8-7 win.
The final game of the day was against Troy Athens. This was a one sided affair and Hartland dominated this game throughout. Athens could not solve Hartland’s defense or the multi-player attack on the offense.
Hartland won this game 13-2.
This was a tournament of ups and downs. The seniors on the team led the way with Haley Crouse having a fantastic weekend. She scored a lot of goals and led the team to victory. Rachael Sharpe and Courtney Lee also shined on a dreary cold day. Amy Longe had a good tournament contributing on the offensive end and midfield defense.
Hartland travels to Grand Blanc on Wednesday to take on the Bobcats in a rematch of the 17-1 Hartland win two weeks ago.
